Barry Manilow Arena Tour


Objective:

To optimize pre-sales and assist in general sales efforts for Barry Manilow’s East Coast Arena Tour in January 2014. 

 Approach:

Given that Billy Joel was playing the majority of the markets prior to Manilow, MME developed, facilitated and executed promotions to support the advertising buys and marketing initiatives in each market through negotiating additional trade-based promotions in print, television, radio and on-line offering front row tickets, limousine transportation and dinners.

• Jacksonville, FL (Veterans Memorial Arena) 
• Ft. Myers, FL (Germain Arena)

• Pensacola, FL (Pensacola Bay Center) 
• Tampa, FL (Tampa Bay Times Forum)

Results

MME was able to secure additional promotions on 11 radio stations, all ranked #1 in their formats, 6 promotions with major dailies, 4 promotions with network television stations and an on-line promotion with one of the tourism bureaus. These promotions were in addition to the previously secured added value promotions negotiated with the advertising buys through the venue’s advertising agencies. The tour did very well and sold out the majority of the venues.
